The Story
“At Bodegas del Viento, we are pioneers in the Sierra de Arteaga region. In 1998, we planted the first vineyards in the region, and in 2003, we began vinifying for the first time with grapes from experimental orchards of 15 varieties.
In 2011, we launched the first label with which the winery became known publicly, Sol de Noche, with the help of our winemaker José Trillo, originally from Spain. His winemaking career began in Valladolid, Ribera del Duero, and Vega Sicilia.
Our vineyard has been in production for over 26 years.
We grow five varieties: Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. We import all our plants with certification from France.
The vineyard covers 24 hectares, and our goal is to expand to 40 hectares. We have a new experimental field of grapes (Riesling, Pinot Gris, Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewutztraminer, Semillon, Monastrell, Touriga nacional, Garnacha, Gamay, Sangiovese, Pinotage, Marsane among others)."
