If there was ever a grape that symbolized Viñas de la ERRE winery, it is Cabernet Sauvignon. This old-world grape found its home in Baja at the family’s estate after Ernesto fell in love with the wines from Bordeaux and winemaker Rogelio Morales encouraged the family to grow the varietal in Baja. Rogelio knew that the conditions in Valle would yield wine-worthy fruit. Ernesto then embarked on a mission to train in the US and France. Upon returning to Baja, he joined Rogelio’s efforts at the winery and began to craft wines that would showcase Mexican terroir, modern winemaking techniques, and old- world style.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This wine is an old-world meets New-world. Bordeaux style, yet has fruit notes typical of new world…a true credit to what Baja is producing. Aromas of wet tobacco, blackberries, leather, baked plums, clove and spices. The wine has a spicy, stewed fruit quality, black pepper and finishes with notes of espresso and dark cocoa.
Food Pairing Notes
This is a bold wine. It requires a discerning wine drinker and foods to accompany which stand up to the power behind this wine. Grilled steaks with a dry rub seasoning, braised pork with a side of blackened vegetables. Love pork? Try braised short ribs with this wine or even Osso Bucco. Vegetarians can enjoy this wine with equally bold seasoned foods.
