VYVA (Vinos y Viñedos Actuales) is a collaborative project established by renowned Mexican enologist and viticulturist Hugo D’Acosta, which includes Casa de Piedra, Paralelo, Contraste & Aborigen.
Considered to be one of the founding fathers of Mexico’s modern winemaking scene, Hugo was also the driving force behind the creation of Baja, Mexico’s first winemaking school (“La Escuelita”). Between La Escuelita and Hugo’s numerous brands it is safe to say that close to half of today’s winemaking community was tutored by or worked with Hugo in some capacity.
While each brand stands on its own, at their core is their singular goal of producing contextual wines, characterized by their origin and of showcasing the region’s unique terroir.
